Wow, my summer project fell apart quickly. It got super hot, everything died; along with it, my creativity and inspiration. As the seasons transition, so will my project. It might be a Lensbaby project. I’m also considering taking a Macro class/workshop so it could be macro pictures. My project may also become filled with pictures … More Summer project day 11?
My cucumbers are long gone, but before the heat set in, the little guys were trying to grow. Maybe I’ll try for a fall garden. Nikon d750 Lensbaby velvet 56 1/100 ISO 400
This little guy is nestled away amongst the leaves and so far is doing pretty good. I love the ethereal quality to this image… the cucumber is the focal point although not completely sharp, and then there is the greenish yellow glow in the background. I like this alot! Update: this little cuke also turned … More Summer project day 9
The heat came in and my photography came to a screeching halt. Everything is brown, yellowing and dying. Hard to be motivated in a situation such as this I got out last week to focus on my garden. My poor little cucumber plant. It will bloom and a little cuke will start to grow and … More Summer project day 8
Back before we reach 100+ degree days every day and my flowers were still blooming, I had some really pretty pink rose blossoms on my plant. It’s been so hot over the last several weeks, it has stopped blooming. I don’t know if I’m not watering enough, or it’s just too hot. Is that even … More Summer project day 7
I’m back from vacation and I’m ready to get caught up. Our trip to Greece was postponed for 2 years because of Covid. Finally, this summer we made it to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. Greece wasn’t quite what I expected, but I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The land itself isn’t pretty in my opinion. Very dry … More Summer vacation Greece 2022
I love using plants as my photo subject. They are available at any time of day and they never complain if I’m taking too long. This year I bought two miniature rose bushes. I love the pink color and they will bloom all summer. This photo is not as sharp as I’d like it to … More Summer project day 6
I’ve got new growth on my Christmas cactus. This is a plant I inherited when my grandmother passed. I don’t particularly like it. It’s real big and is just kind of ugly but I keep it alive and nurture it because it reminds me of her. For day 5, it was my photo subject for … More Summer project day 5
Day 4 – Making progress! I did some editing in LR on this one. Cropped the image and increased the contrast to help the wrinkles stand out. I never even noticed the water droplet until I started editing the photo. I am much more pleased with this one, but there is still plenty of work … More Summer project day 4
My flower bouquet is something you need to experience in person. The Stargazer lilies in this bouquet are outstanding and smell so good! Overall, I think this picture is pretty good. Not underexposed, pretty sharp. I think it’s a keeper!
