For my birthday present this year, I finally bought myself the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I rented one several months back, and I loved the effect it brought to my photographs. So different than anything that I have done before. It’s going to take some practice as I am not used to manual focus, and I don’t have very steady hands. But I love macro photography, and I think this lens will give me a boost to my motivation and inspiration, and it will just be plain fun to practice with.
The pictures above are some of the ones that I took with the Velvet 56 back in March. They aren’t great, but it will remind me of where I started and will allow me to compare as my expertise grows.
Anybody else use the Velvet 56? Any good advice or suggestions? I’d love to hear about them and learn from you!
